Giant Bicycle Recalls XtC Bicycles and Seatposts Due to Fall Hazard

Description

This recall includes 2013 model year Giant XtC Advanced SL 29er 0 and 29er 1 series bicycles and 27.2 mm carbon fiber seatposts sold separately. The SL 29er 0 model bicycle is white, black and blue.  The SL 29er 1 model is white, black and red. The letters “XTC” appear on the down tube of the frame on both bicycles.  The name “Giant” and “Contact SLR” appear on the 27.2 mm carbon fiber seatposts.

Thank you SLOBC (SLOBC Membership Benefits) for the opportunity to serve as a mechanic volunteer.  I had a great time and fixed a flood of bikes.  Most interesting repairs were a snapped seat rail and a broken spoke (repaired with Fiber Fix Spoke); as well as loose spokes, a broken cleat, lost cleat screws, and the usual shift and brake issues galore.  I really look forward to and enjoy working the Wildflower and Lighthouse every year.  It's one of my favorite things. Thank you again SLOBC. -TCP
